Posted March 20, 2018 11:04:58When it comes to protecting your information online, a lot of the questions are rhetorical and not very helpful, according to Mark Boulware, senior VP of product management at CrowdStrike.
“It’s very difficult to understand the public response to a piece of news if you don’t have the data,” he says.
“We have the ability to collect all the data that’s available and then do some analysis and create a map of the impact.”
Boulware and his team are currently working on a new way to collect and analyze that data.
CrowdStrike’s “SciOps” initiative is designed to help companies better understand how information is being used online and where it could be vulnerable.
The company has been working on the technology since 2015 and says that it has seen a dramatic rise in use of social media.
“Social media has exploded in popularity and people are using it for a lot more than just the sharing of information,” Boulwers says.
“It’s the place where people connect and have fun, where people share things and talk about the news and things like that.”
This is where a lot people get their news and the information that they’re sharing.
That’s why you see the spikes in the use of Facebook.
“When it came to analyzing the data, Boulwitz says he had to rely on social media to figure out what’s really going on.”
While Boulwasn is quick to say that CrowdStrike is not trying to become the first to use social media analytics to analyze your data, he admits that there are some advantages to the technology.””
