Authorities have identified the man killed in a shooting in suburban Dallas as 30-year-old James Holmes, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Holmes, who was charged Friday with two counts of capital murder, was shot multiple times by police after he entered the apartment complex where he lived with a woman and her teenage son.
He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead shortly before midnight Friday.
A neighbor who said she saw Holmes on the scene of the shooting told local station KXAS-TV that he was not armed, but was wearing a shirt and shoes.
According to the medical examiner’s office, Holmes’ death was ruled an accident.
Witnesses said he was upset with the mother and his teenage son for playing video games, KXas reported.
The family was in the apartment when the shooting occurred, KWTV reported.
The woman, who is a nurse, was not hurt in the shooting, and police later arrested her boyfriend.
